Long-term Care

Long-term care (LTC) is the ongoing assistance provided to individuals who have trouble performing essential daily activities, known as Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). These ADLs include tasks like bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, transferring (moving from one place to another), and maintaining continence.

Long-term care can be needed due to aging, chronic illness, or disability and can be provided at home or in specialized facilities like nursing homes.

ADLs are crucial indicators of a person’s ability to live independently, and LTC services help those who struggle with ADLs to maintain their quality of life and get the necessary support for daily tasks.
